For
a Special Helper
Nelda
made this quilt with the dog sitter in mind. She machine appliquéd
the tea pots with doggie fabrics. The Interlocking Falling
Leaves pantograph showed the passing of time with this calendar
quilt.

Love
is in the Air
Baroque
Hearts pantograph is the perfect choice for this hearts quilt.
Nelda combined two techniques to make this clever design.
|
|
Desert
Applique
Nelda
completed this Arlene Walsh design in lovely desert colors. She
did hand appliqué. the custom quilting accentuated the appliqué.
The southwestern border completed the feeling.

Sue's
Chili Peppers
Sue
made this Trip Around the World in a class at a local quilt
store. To jazz it up and make it more southwestern, we used chili
peppers in red thread.
|
|
Trip
around the World
Liz
made a trip around the world in the same class (I think!). We
used dill thread and a large Chantilly Lace pantograph for a totally
different look from Sue's (above). the pieced back is very
interesting.

Cara's
Charity
Cara
used her embroidery machine to make this baby quilt that she will give
away. The fat polyester batting makes it very
cuddly. We used an Anne Bright pattern that could be called
"Baby Clouds" because baby animals are hidden in the cloud
pattern. Some sweet child will love this quilt!
|
|
T-shirt
Cara
and her two girls have lots of t-shirts made into
quilts. They say that they watch TV, sleep, and
generally live under the quilts. Baroque Hearts seems to be a
favorite pantograph to give a nice stability to a quilt with a very
symmetrical look.

Feathered
Friends
What
could be better on Marjorie's bird house quilt than Feather
Meandering? The pieced the back makes this quilt cute both front
and back..
|
|
Kay's
First Appliqué
When
Kay learns a new skill she makes something beautiful. Her appliqué
is wonderful and the quilt looks exactly like the pattern. She
will use this on her own bed and enjoy it daily.
|
|
Soft
Flannel
Melinda
made this soft quilt for a young relative. For sure, he will
cuddle and enjoy it! the Stars and Loops pattern accents the log
cabin stars.
|
|
Cara's
Beauty
This
modern quilt has a quaint feel about it with the retro fabric that her
friend picked out. Cara says these aren't her colors but she
honored her friend's choice and made a lovely quilt. Simply
Clematis gives it s fresh springy feel.

Yellow
Brick Road
Donna
called this her ugly quilt when she brought it for quilting.
With the burgundy thread to match the border and the large Chantilly
Lace, she really likes it now.
|
|
Curved
Seams
Janet
does these curved seams beautifully. We used an all-over loops
to give the quilt some added curved lines. She supplied the
variegated thread in the colors she liked.
|
|
Carpenter's
Star
Liz
collected batiks for a long time for this lovely Carpenter's
Star. We used a fat poly batting to give it depth. the
custom continuous curve in the star and the small meandering
accomplish that look.
|
|
Donna's
Granddaughter
Donna
made this small quilt for her granddaughter. We used small
Chantilly Lace in begonia thread for it. This great lizzard
fabric on the back picks up all of the colors in the quilt.
|
|
Donna's
Grandson
Donna
made this quilt for her grandson. It is a larger version of his
sister's. The larger Chantilly Lace in orange thread makes it
the same only a bit different.
|
|
Desert
Sights
Mary
Constructed this quilt to show off a southwestern line of
fabric. It hangs in a local quilt shop. The camel-colored
thread nearly disappears fo the contours of the desert can pop
out. the quail marching around the borders give ti real
character. Desert-colored fabric with gold swirls makes the back
very attractive.

Pat's
Hope Chest
This
pastel quilt with hearts will go into Patch hope chest until her
grandchildren are born. it has fat poly batting so it will
be cuddly for the baby. Her only instructions from VA were that it had
to have hearts in the border. We did more than that.
