Monochromatic
Beige

spent months collecting the fabrics for this lovely quilt. We
used Simply Clematis to give it s fresh, light look. The ecru
thread keeps the monochromatic look at lets the piecing show.

Asian fabrics including the backing. We used Asian

Charity
Maxine
completed three more charity quilts for the Justin Project.
The
first is blocks of color. We repeated the gold from the back and
used Celtic Scroll to give it some swirl.
The
second is wide striped of color with animals. We used marching
elephants to make it appeal to the children.
The
third quilt has a space there. We used Stars and Loops in
turquoise thread.
Connie
contributed another Justin Quilts this month.
She
had a cure Noah's Ark panel. We used Interlocking surfs Up to
give it the feeling of lots of water.
Jo Lee
made one quilt from a printed panel. Both back and front
are a snuggly flannel.
The
Q.U.I.L.T.S. SIG keeps a record of all quilts given.

a Star

crossword puzzle block and had his name worked into the puzzle.
We used Stars and Loops to add to the star theme.

Diamonds
and Appliqué
Brooke
calls this Calendar Girls. She machine appliquéd the twelve
characters representing the months. My favorite is February with
the hearts in her skirt. The piecing diamonds showed up as the
quilting developed. the pieced backing was fun.

|
Feathers
Arlene
designed and machine (I had to look real close to know that!) appliquéd
this quilt called "Feathers." She did the dream
catchers with yarn. Ditching and McTavishing made her figures
pop. she used black batting so there was no chance of light
batting bearding and ruining her work.

Wedding
Quilt
Gretchen
was recently married and made this quilt to honor the occasion.
It is English Paper pieced to make the gold compasses and the New York
Beauty arcs. The custom quilting was designed to give motion the
the large areas and make the paper piecing crisp and sharp.

Musical
Jacque
made this quilt for her 13-year old grandson who is very
musical. We used a modified Dave Hudson music pantograph in
turquoise thread.
|
|
Poppy
Quilt
Jacque
made this eye-popping poppy quilt for her niece in Alaska. She
will need lots of bright colors to get through the long winter
there. We used Windy Meandering to blend in with the leaf colors
and the backing and to give the quilt some contours.
|
|
Girl
Quilt
Jacque
made this sweet pink quilt for her 11-year old granddaughter.
She is a lively girl so we used pink variegated thread and the Bell
Flower pantograph to add a little action.
|
|
Grandson
Jacque's
other grandson is an athletic boy. This quilt is over the top
with its colors, so we used gold thread like the inner border.
We made lots of circles to go with the backing with Celtic Scroll.
|

|
Geckos
Gretchen
pieced with bright quilt using gecko and frog fabric, so we repeated
the pattern with some bright yellow geckos.
