Southwest
Beauty
Nelda
made this bold quilt and then selected a southwestern quilting design
that made it a real conversation starter. The El Passo (spelled
right according to the pattern) in turquoise thread brought it
to life.

For
a Friend
Carol
pieced this by piecing on a muslin backing and then was no longer able
to manage the bulk of putting on the borders. Lynn finished it
for her and then Quilted Quail made the backing, did the quilting with
"Fleurs", and put the binding on the front. Carol was
planning to do the hand work on the binding. Lovely work, Carol!

May's
Quilt
May
made this springy quilt for her daughter. We used "Simply Clematis" to
make it feminine and flowery. The purple thread brings out the
colors well.
|
|
May's
Clouds
May
pieced this bargello quilt for her son. It needed some action, so 'Oriental
Clouds' gives it the motion it needs. The blue thread matches
the dark border and ties it all together.

|
Irish
Chain
May
pieced this nice Irish Chain in blue and white. The 'Sydney'
pantograph makes it a boy's quilt for sure. Her son will enjoy
having this.

"T"
for Tennessee
When
May saw that Quilted Quail was making steering wheel covers, she
ordered a bright orange one for her father's birthday. The
covers protect the steering wheel in the summer when the sun is
beating down and allow the driver to touch it when he gets into the
car. They hang over the top and come off before the car is
driven.

Bold
Quilt
Melinda
pieced this bold star. It is 91" X 74 and the star centers
on the bed. 'Windy Meandering' in red gave it dimension but left
it bold and beautiful. with its bold background, this is a
truly reversible quilt.

Finally
Finished
Nancy's
mother-in-law made this cute little quilt in her day. It had
lace around it already that Quilted Quail turned back and whipped
around the edges rather than binding. Nancy said it looked just
like her MIL would have done it (except for the machine quilting, of
course).

Charity
Quilts
Connie
belongs to a 'stripping' group at a local quilt shop. She made
these two quilts to give to the children in the hospital. She
learned two similar techniques and the children will certainly
benefit.
Yoko
made a nice Lasagna Quilt. Quilted Quail 'practiced' a new
feathers pattern from a longarm pattern designer and it came out
beautifully.

Heart
of the Prairie
Oline
made all 152 of these hearts special. They will fray with the
first washing and have real character. The quilting is a meander
with a wiggle in the hearts that will keep it nice and firm when it
does its thing. Her sister, Donna, who will deliver it to her,
likes the back, too.

Wall
Hanging
Angie
took a class to learn "Winding Ways' and liked this batik quilt
so much she will have it on her wall when special company comes.
Baroque Hearts in lilac-colored thread continued the curved lines.

Thimbleberries
Barbara
belongs to the Thimbleberries Club in the local quilt shop. She
pieced this top and used flannel for the backing for her nephew's
wedding gift. Sand Dune thread and 'Windy Meandering" make
a great combination.

Nelda's
Angels
Nelda
has a friend who deserves an angel quilt. How wonderful!
She appliquéd the angels and the cute sayings. We used 'Stars
and Loops' to continue the theme. Even the backing fabric has
angels.

First
Quilt!
Elvira
made this quilt after her son picked out the patriotic fabric.
It is her first quilt and she had a good teacher. We used navy
thread in the 'Stars and Loops' pantograph to continue the patriotic
feeling.

|
Nephew's
Quilt
Gretchen
made this quilt for her nephew. We decided on the bright
variegated thread because she wanted it as bright as possible.
Her pineapples are beautifully pieced.
