For her Sister-in-Law

Mary pieces this quilt for her sister-in-law.  It goes to a cool climate and the striped flannel backing will make it warm and snuggly.  We used Simply Clematis and Mother Goose thread to make the quilting overall and the lovely piecing stand out.

Wall Quilt

Mary has changed from wanting no clear thread to having this quilt done all in clear thread.  It gives the quilt a fresh uncluttered look.  This quilt will hang on the walls at a hospice to give interest to the surroundings.

National Dog Show

Connie is taking these throw-sized quilts to a national dog show.  She has been collecting fabric with dogs on it for years just for these quilts. Each has a pantograph from The Pattern Man.  The doggie paw prints march over each one.

Connie is a beginning quilter and all of her quilts are square and flat.  She seems to enjoy her quilting experience!

Tulips

Donna pieced this cute tulip quilt.  she selected Windy Meandering because of its curving lines to soften the square lines of the piecing.  The sunlight yellow thread picks up the colors in the quilt without overwhelming them.

Birthday

Irma made this quilt for her cousin's birthday.  We used rustana thread and falling leaves to continue the outdoor idea from the fabric.

Circles

I bought this quilt on E-bay, not knowing what it would turn out to be.  It is a vintage quilt that had some fabric to replace.  It was tied in its earlier use.  I got it because of the circles and wanting to quilt custom circles.  All of the circles are different sizes and all of the custom fillers show a different technique.  The back tells the story.

Block of the Month

Susan pieced this lovely quilt and Quilted Quail did custom quilting.  Her blocks and sashing are very square, so the stitch-in-the-ditch (SID) was easy to do.  We used leaves in the sashing and free-hand leaves in the border.  QQ did the binding.

Red, White, and Blue

Susan pieced this patriotic block-of-the-month quilt.  We did custom quilting that included SID and continuous curve.  We used feathers in the sashing and around the borders to make it a very traditional quilt.  QQ did the binding by hand.  Susan signed the name of the recipient and the year on one of the front blocks.

Scrappy Look

This custom-made quilt is headed for a quilt shop display.  This 60 X 75-inch quilt has lots of pieces and lots of detail.  Carol pieced the blocks, fused the appliqué, and satin-stitched all of the figures in a very short time.  The custom quilting is designed to make her work stand out.

Does your quilt belong here??

Quilted Quail was closed for over a week so the owners could visit their grandchildren.
