Shower
Quilt
Susan
pieced this quilt as a shower gift for a friend. Quilted Quail
designed a sea horse and starfish pattern to go with the cute fabric.
|

|
Scraps
Elaine
liked the pieces of her other quilt so much that she made another one
from the extra pieces. This one she designed herself. We
used El Passo on it to give it that southwestern flair. It's a
beauty!

|
Irish
Trip
Mary
says that she loves red and white. This flannel Irish Trip uses
all red and white fabric, both back and front, for its striking
outcome. Quilted Quail stitched a straight line through every
block to make it just like the pattern in the book.

|
Patriotic
Liz
used preprinted blocks to construct this patriotic quilt.
Quilted Quail used red, white, and blue variegated thread for the
Stars and Loops to complete the look. the backing fabric
completes the whole idea with flair.

Sampler
Susan
did a great job with this sampler. quilted Quail used
"Dancing Leaves" to add motion and connection to the design.
|
|
Charity
Brooke
pieced this "Hidden Wells" quilt for Quilt for a
Cause. Dancing Leaves was a perfect pantograph for the
fabric. The rustana-colored thread created only contours on the
back because of its perfect match.
|
|
Southwest
Elaine
loves the earthy southwestern colors and uses them well in this
special bargello quilt. The El Passo pantograph alls further
southwestern flavor. The rustana thread blends well with front
and back. The Indian ladies with their colorful blankets and the
colors make this a perfect backing fabric. This is one of our
favorites.

|
Bonnies'
Blocks
Bonnie
pieced this large quilt with all of its optical illusions. We
used rustana thread and the El Passo pantograph to soften the sharp
lines.
|
|
Windy
Meandering
Linda
used great contrasting fabric on her star. Windy Meandering
lends motion to this quilt without interrupting the straight
lines. the backing fabric gave us the idea for the pantograph.
The variegated Sand Dunes thread flows and adds interest.
|
|
Straight
Lines
Storm
at Sea is a quilt made of straight piecing and great color
contrast. Brooke made this one special with her ocean
colors. We used Dancing Leaves in purple thread to give it
interest.

Special
Project
My
friend Pat and I, with the advice of our quilting bee, made this quilt
from old, old pieces of other quilts that Sharon's grandmother had
made. We rehydrated the fabric, pieced the top, appliquéd some
extra pieces on the backing, quilted, and bound it. Finally
finished, the quilt should be strong enough to last a longer time than
just pieces, Now Sharon has a quilt!
|
|
Pat's
Grandson
Pat
helped design the nursery for her grandson and saved the quilt for
last. The nursery and the quilt feature pandas. He was
born just as the quilt was finished. These are old friends in
Virginia so we are hoping for a picture of baby, mother, grandmother,
and the quilt soon.

Play
it Again
Marlys
made this same quilt before with the same fabrics in the
piecing. She used blue this time on the borders and got a
completely different look. We used Simply Clematis in chambray
thread for the clean, fresh look.

For
a Book
Brooke
pieced a quilt in a class and was asked to submit it for possible
inclusion in a book a friend at a local quilt shop is
publishing. It is all up to the editors now. And you will
see it in the book first! Here's the back.

English
Garden
Bonnie
pieced this beauty. She likes lots of purple, so the purple
thread and the English Garden pantograph simple added to her
favorites.
|
|
Lilac
and Pansy
Elaine
pieced this lovely traditional quilt. Her focus fabric had
purple pansies to contrast well with the snowy white pieces.
Simply Clematis in lilac thread showed in all the right places.
The back is lovely, as well.

|
April's
Baskets
This
is the pieced block of the month quilt from a local quilt shop.
We used simply Clematis to put some flowers into the baskets.
The use of more flowers on the back makes this a very interesting
quilt.

Hawaiian
Appliqué
Nancy
learned to do Hawaiian appliqué and then needed help with finishing
her quilt. We echoed in the traditional Hawaiian manner and put
leaves in the border to echo the fabric. This is a cute little
project.
