Rose Quilt

Jacque made these first two quilts; one for a mother and the other for a daughter.  This quilt had everything rose about it so we used Rambler Rose in Old Rose colored thread.  It is a very calming lady's quilt.

Bright Quilt

Jacque used brighter fabric both front and back on this quilt.  We used begonia thread to pick up the bright pinks from the fabric.  Dancing Leaves is a pattern that has real movement and seemed to complement the quilt.

National Dog Show

Connie is still making "Doggie Quilts" for her booth at a notional dog show and adding several for friends and family along the way.

Dalmatians and fire badges, trucks, and paw prints.

Fish and lily pads.

Paw prints and more paw prints.

Every kind of dog.

Green pooches.

Cowboys in the Old West.

Neon bunnies.

Peach Wonder

Jody pieced this lovely peach and green quilt.  The custom quilting following those diagonal lines made this a simple and effective quilt.   Two sizes of leaves and loops in the borders gave it some border interest.

Mary Lou's Lavender

This bold quilt with its lovely combination of colors just needed a pantograph to 'hold it together.'  We used Simply Clematis to give it a fresh, clean look.  The lavender thread blended in and let the piecing shine through.

Sweet Happy Sampler

This quilt was a part of a recipe block of the month.  When each pattern for the block was given a recipe and a sample of the food came with it.  It seems as if everyone was happy.  Each block has an individual quilting design using continuous curve quilting.  Cross-hatching emphasizes the sashing.

Mystery Quilt

Brooke did this mystery quilt with the gals at a local quilt store.  Nobody knew how it would turn out, but this one is great.  We used feathers to tie the similar shapes and colors together, flowers in the blue background, and had fun with insets in the little open spaces.  Isn't the pieced back something?

Victorian Valentines

This is a very special quilt that debuted at the Tucson Quilters Guild Show January 12 - 14, 2007.  It was done by an appliqué bee .   Each person did an individual block and then it was assembled. They did a wonderful job!   The custom quilting they requested was outlining all of the appliqué and then using different background fillers besides meandering.   That variety gives the quilt an elegant look.

Kits are still available at the local quilt shop shop.  It is definitely an expert's  project.

Dresden Plate

Gretchen had fun with the Dresden Plates and circles.  We tried to continue the ideas of circles with the loops and swirls in the custom quilting.

New York Beauty

Gretchen also made this New York Beauty or Compass quilt.  The custom quilting emphasizes the points created by the paper piecing.  Aren't these pieced backs fun?

Does your quilt belong here?? Quilted Quail was closed for two weeks in celebration of the holidays.
