Golf
Anyone?
Debbie
made this clever golf quilt for a friend. The attic windows
pattern serves nicely to focus on the golfers. Everyone
who was in the shop was surprised about the golf ball fabric in the
borders and her clever use of the preprinted green fabric. Only
a custom job did justice to this beauty.

Orchid
Marlys
pieced this large quilt. We used orchid-colored thread in
the pattern Simply Clematis to continue the flowery theme. The
all-over pattern gave this a gently, springy feeling.

Bella
Donna
calls this block-of-the-month quilt "Bella." Each of
the different blocks is perfectly set into the plain background.
The Windy Meandering pattern gives it some movement and contour, even
with the Mother Gooses thread that blends well with everything.

Flutterby
Pat
made this cute little quilt for her first granddaughter. The
very intense "Flutterby" pattern should give this quilt many
hours of being dragged around by little hands.

Interlocking
Butterflies
These
very large poppies dominate the quilt with its bright colors.
Pat used butterfly fabric as the backing and wanted more on the
front. These large butterflies seem to flit around the flowers
and give it a happy look.

Special
Birthday
Lynn
made this very special quilt for her friend's special birthday.
She collected mementos from her life and incorporated them onto these
book shelves. Lynn will add embellishments which include a
flower, uniform arm patch, and a wooden ornament. The binding
followed the shape of the quilt to make it hang like a bookcase.
The pictures are the crowing touch!

Mary's
Batik Beauty
Mary
made this quilt and enjoyed watching the secondary patterns the batik
made in the blocks. The begonia thread and Windy Meandering
pattern add excitement and more color.

Hearts
Pat
pieced this quilt and then said she wanted "Looping hearts
in the border area. The rest is up to your artistic
license." This custom hearts quilting seems to make her
piecing pop! the quilt lives happily in Virginia.

Brrr!
June
did a great job of appliqué on these snowmen. She wanted only
medium meandering in clear thread to give it stability and let her
work show. Will they last in Arizona until winter?

|
Large
Stipple
June
says that she just likes the way stippling looks on a quilt. We
used a very large stipple on this quilt. The green thread almost
disappeared in the lovely fabric.

Twisted
Bargello
Judy
will really enjoy having this on her wall. The colors are
magnificent. The quilting goes through every intersection of
fabric to give it the twisted look. Loopy leaves in the border
match the fabric there. and the back shows it all!!

E-Bay
Jo Lee
bought this quilt on E-bay and used it for practice. The center
cross was the starting point for the in-point diamond and then the
flowers, hummingbirds, butterflies, and feathers just grew. this
seems to be a very old quilt, so someone should be happy that a
50-year old project is finally completed.

Celebration
of Appliqué
Kay appliquéd
this lovely "Celebration of Appliqué "from the Lori Smith
pattern. Kay's work is exquisite!! It was planned for a
bed 'topper' but when she saw her work she and her husband decided to
hang in on the wall for all of their guests to see. The
McTavishing and meandering in the different colored background fabrics
made the blocks pop. The back looks like a marvelous wholecloth
quilt.
